On March, 20th, 2009 the Ministry of Economic development of Georgia conducted an auction for granting a license for mining operations in place of Borjomi mineral water deposits. Georgian Glass and Mineral Waters Company has become the license holder for a term of 25 years. The initial price for the license was set as an equivalent of USD 8 mln in lari and the step was equal to USD 200 000 in lari. Georgian Glass and Mineral Waters Company has bought the license for USD 8 200 000.

“The fact that our company became the license holder once again is a reasoned continuation of the activity, performed by us for the success of the Georgian brand. For about 15 years we have been responsible for the development of Borjomi brand. Such a great work has been done to achieve the success. We can say that we have been living from crisis to crisis. Over 15-year period we have passed through 3 crises and after having got over them we became stronger and stronger. Actually, we revived the Borjomi brand and recovered its former fame. So, the present day for us is a logical continuation of all the activity performed before”, - stated General Director Zaza Kikwadze.
