«GGMW» company received the certificate ISO 22000
Product Security System
BORJOMI is the first mineral water company on a scale of all the CIS (the Commonwealth of Independent States) that corresponds to the international certificate sign ISO 22000.
June 15th, 13:00 in Borjomi park the representative of Bureau Veritas handed the certificate of international product security standards ISO 22000 to «GGMW» company. The mentioned newest standard, established in 2005 gives an opportunity to control the product quality during the whole production cycle – starting from extraction, ending with distribution – using the system of detecting critical points and their regulation – НАССР (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point).
“For the recent 10 years we have won the superiority in several areas of mineral water market. In 2005 we were the first to be certified for our products with the view to enter the European market. We were the first to apply the strictest control to Borjomi water and to bring it to the highest quality standards”, -- stated General Director Zaza Kikwadze.
The respective certification of «GGMW» in accordance with the standard ISO 22000 has been performed by the French company Bureau Veritas Certification which started the audit in June 2006.
At the same time working on the international quality standards, «GGMW» carried out serious modernization of production means.
For the recent 5 years the company has spent USD12 million on the reconstruction of the factory “Borjomi’No1, and USD 18 million - on the reconstruction of the factory No2. As a result we have a complete renovation of the bottler lines and other production equipment, as well as implementation of the up-to-date European (Italian, German, French) technologies such as SIDEL, KHS, KRONES, SIPA.
At the same time factories’ efficiency has increased to a great extent – Factory No1 produces 200 million bottles a year, factory No2 – 150 million bottles.
International journalistsOn June 15th more than 50 journalists from 5 countries - Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine visited the ceremony of certificate granting and presentation of the Factory No1. During the visit the representatives of international mass media inspected the Borjomi factory. In the end of the presentation there was arranged a special press-conference where General Director Zaza Kikwadze of GGMW/Georgia,, Vice-President of water recourses Levan Bagdavadze of GGMW/Georgia, Executive Director of GG&MW Co.N.V. Holding Zhak Fler and Vice-President of GG&MW Co.N.V. Holding on Marketing Marianna Glotova gave an interview to the journalists.
