Q&A

How do I make sure that this is authentic Borjomi?

Borjomi has changed its appearance. The bottle shape has become more sophisticated and modern.

The color of the bottle, both plastic and glass as before, has a characteristic patented bluish-green tint, the so-called Georgian Green - Borjomi Georgian Green.

Plastic and glass bottles "Borjomi" have 3 clear and easy-to-read labels (two on the front of the bottle, one on the back). There are 2 labels on the front of the bottle - on the top and bottom labels the brand name is indicated in English lettering - Borjomi (on the top - vertically, on the bottom - horizontally).

The Borjomi plastic bottle is closed with a translucent plastic cap, the glass bottle is closed with a European-style aluminum cap with a tactile embossing logo and a characteristic plastic ring at the bottom, which splits into three equal parts when opened. The ring is made in the colors of the lid, each of the three parts also has a tactile Borjomi logo but made using the “debossing” (concave) technique. Both lids are Borjomi Georgian Green. In both cases, the words Borjomi (center) and GEORGIAN NATURAL MINERAL WATER (in a circle) are inscribed on the top of the lid in white.

The bottling date, expiry date and line number are indicated as follows:

• DD.MM.YY 00:00 - Date of bottling and time

• DD.MM.YY L00 - Shelf life of products and production line code:

• L10 - Glass Line (glass bottles)

• L11 - PET 1 (plastic bottles)

• L12 - PET2 (plastic bottles)

• L13 - Can Line (aluminum cans)

This information is laser engraved on the lower face label.

Also, on the lower face label there is a QR-code that “leads” to the description of this package on the website www.borjomi.com.

All manufacturer information is indicated on the back label in the language of the Borjomi importing country. For example, in Russia - in Russian, Ukraine - in Ukrainian, etc. The barcode is located on the front right-side label.

How long can I keep water in an opened bottle?

The water itself will not lose its main properties for several days, but carbon dioxide will gradually escape, so Borjomi’s taste may change.

Can I freeze Borjomi?

We strongly recommend not doing it, because the water will lose some of its main properties. In particular, the degree of carbonation will decrease.

Is Borjomi water in a plastic bottle the same as in a glass one? Or in a can?

Surely! You will find the same Borjomi water in a glass or a plastic bottle or in an aluminum can. PET packaging was introduced for the convenience of drinking, so that you could take it with you when going to the countryside, on a picnic, for a stroll, etc. Glass is more of a premium product for a festive table, café or restaurant. And aluminum can is a convenient packaging for drinking while walking, at a concert, during various activities, etc.

Why the Borjomi packaging contains the depiction of deer?

Deer is an unalienable element of Borjomi’s original style. Its appearance on the packaging is attributed to the legend about how a deer helped discover the source of Borjomi. Legend has it that long time ago, hunters shot a young deer in mountains surrounding the Borjomi Gorge. The wounded animal dashed away from the hunters and plunged into a spring of water. A few minutes later, the deer jumped out of there, fully recovered, and disappeared from the pursuers. That was how this unique mineral water was discovered, and the gracious noble animal became the symbol of Borjomi which continues to grace the bottles and cans of this famous water brand till present time.
